PLEASE READ: Scripts Policy

We take server security very seriously at DeafVision and have spared no expense when it comes to our servers. We spend a considerable amount of time on server security each day, including monitoring and warding off hundreds of hacking attempts each hour.

While we're responsible for the server itself, customers are responsible for their own individual accounts.  Customers are free to install any software scripts of their choosing that do not violate our Terms of Services.  With this freedom comes responsibility.  Customers are solely responsibility for ensuring that what they or their webmasters install is secure and up-to-date, that strong passwords are used and changed regularly, and that all measures are taken to keep the software and scripts they install up-to-date and hardened.

All the state-of-the-art security hardware and software in the world and all the security precautions we undertake at the server level will NOT prevent your website from being hacked if you use weak passwords and / or outdated or vulnerable scripts or plugins on your account.  Content Management System (CMS) scripts such as WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, OSCommerce and ZenCart are popular targets of malicious hackers who are constantly finding ways to exploit these and other scripts. While our servers themselves are generally well protected, your individual account where you install these scripts and associated plugins is not protected if the installed scripts or plugins have security vulnerabilities. It's a lot like having one of the best security systems in the world but not enabling it regularly and leaving your front door open for anyone to enter while going on vacation. Customers need to be proactive in keeping their accounts secure. We also can't emphasize enough how important it is for customers to backup their websites regularly.

Per our Terms of Services, DeafVision reserves the right to immediately suspend any account that is found to be outdated, insecure, has been exploited, or is adversely affecting the server's performance.  In addition, customer will be held liable for any damages their outdated/exploited scripts may cause to the server and for any system admin time needed to resolve these issues.

Please schedule a time each week to check your scripts to ensure they are all up-to-date and to make regular offsite backups. Thank you.
